Class A Uniform

Okay, first off, my photographer is AMAZING. She makes my fat ass look totally cute. She's magic.

Second, this is my newest uniform, my take on 's Class A uniform, which is a combination of the Monster Maroons of the classic movie era (Wrath of Khan - The Undiscovered Country), and the grey-shouldered uniforms that first showed up in First Contact. One of my shipmates has dubbed them the "Monster Greys", which I really like.

I made my uniform in science division teal, which was a BEAR to dye to the right colour. (Tip for those wanting to do this - start with a sky blue cotton knit, and then dye the fabric with a 1-1 mixture of RIT's Teal and Dark Green.) The black fabric is a poly gabardine, lined in light taffeta. There's divisional tan on the front interior panel, but I think I may go back and change that to be science teal, as well.

I originally had a belt to wear with it, but I didn't like the way it looked when I tried it on with the uniform (it was just a plain belt, not a Trek belt), so I left it off. I also forgot my combadge, and my pips are on the wrong side, but whatcha ya gonna do?

I'm really pleased with how this uniform turned out. I hope to eventually add a few tweaks to finish it off so I can call it completely finished.
